Studio Brief 1 - Initial layout plan

To begin the ideas for the layout design for the publication, several sketches were first made. This would then provide a rough idea of how the layout will be and what different layouts to try out digitally. Quickly sketching the ideas in this way, allows for several potential options to be initialised before deciding on one particular layout.
The layout designs include the placement of the title, servings, ingredients, methods, facts and images. They also suggest the sizes to use when placing the content.
The designs show the placements of text and images across double page spreads, as they will be printed in this way.

The design also shows an initial layout for how the cover may look. This can then be reviewed later in peer review.

The next set of plans involved the order in which the pages would be aligned. This meant arranging the different recipes into 4 sections, 'Bars and Bites', 'Brownies', 'Cake and loaf' and 'Cookies'. These were then arranged by number, so that when printed it would be easier to determine which pages would be next to one another.
