Design Principles - Studio Brief 2 - Exhibition development

development
After creating the initial layout for the poster, it was possible to then arrange the text in a way that would be best suited to the exhibition theme. As the previous research example showed, the text include on the leaflet for The World Goes Pop had limited space remaining after the text had been applied. Therefore, by creating this alternative example it would be possible to gain feedback on whether the outcome should use large text or utilise the rule of thirds with smaller text.

Here is the chosen photograph used for the backdrop of the poster. The idea was to align the central object with the centre of the layout, so that when the text is applied on top it will draw the viewers attention to the middle of the poster. Next, several experimentations with the text were done so that they could also align well with the corresponding lines and the image in the background.

After experimenting with several variations of the typeface, the design was narrowed down to these two ideas. These could then be reviewed by peers during the final outcome stage to conclude the design for the poster. This would also allow for feedback on ways that the poster could have alternatively been approached during the design stages of the project.
