OUGD601 - Practical Development (Concept Reconsideration)

Here I began to think about how the brand identity may look if it were to involve a logo. The idea here was to represent an active lifestyle through the symbols of health and vitality. Using heart shaped design seemed quite cliche, and therefore the idea was discarded. Instead, it was recommended that the design be approached in a way that would both utilise layout and text, while remaining somewhat medical or health aware in some way.


The text was tried in different colours to see which would best represent a healthy approach. The light blue and white was a particular favourite among the colours that were tried, as it is reminiscent of design found in medicine and hospitals. However, the green and white was another colour combination which communicated clean, healthy ideas.
At this point in the design process, it became clear that the design would need to be reassessed in terms of what is going wrong and which elements should be pursued.


  • Firstly the design needs to communicate better an idea of health/vitality
  • It needs to work as a continuous identity
  • The choice of font seems to be relevant at this stage. However, it would be wise to better consider which layouts are used in existing design of a similar nature and how they might be applied to this development.
