OUGD501 - Practical investigation

After receiving feedback from the first version of the COP essay and speaking with peers on way to link the content to practical work, it became clear that in order to create more plausible ideas the essay would first need to be altered significantly and include more reference to graphic design context.

Feedback
After explaining that the essay would need to show how technology is changing in modern society and the roles that graphic design play in this change, it became apparent how the essay should be altered.
- Take a more noticeable stance on the argument. The stance that will be taken will be to show graphic design as changing with technology as a positive thing.

- Think about how the future of graphic design might change as a result of the advancements in technology. e.g. 3D design, virtual reality, digital formats etc.

- Compare the difference between original graphic design practice to todays practice. Will there be changes from now to the future?

- Look at more accounts of the argument, including reference to them in the essay.

It creates dystopian scenarios of society and the implications of technology that may be possible in real life. By reflecting exaggerations of real life, the show is able to predict a glimpse of society if it allows technology to advance.
