As the student art pass looks minimalistic in design, it seemed appropriate to use minimalistic illustrative style for the campaign. Here is the Student Art Pass displayed on the wall of a gallery.
Two Figures were then added, in order to include the element of dating or viewing art with a partner. Between the figures, one of the characters is speaking to the other. The caption reads "Can you believe this is priced at £5?!". This shows the audience that the price of the pass is astonishing and well worth the money.
Another option was displaying the art pass behind barriers, to show exclusivity.
This was developed further by encasing the pass within a glass cabinet, similar to the Mona Lisa.
These were then applied to the gallery space, which would give the audience more perspective of what the design is showing.
Here the design adds the conversation between the two figures, as they comment on the art. One character says "It's even better in person", while the other replies "And, I can't believe it is £5!".
This could make the audience think about how well the student art pass will work in person and clearly gives them the price of the pass.
Changing the background colours allowed for the design to look more vibrant and visually similar to a gallery space.
After receiving feedback at this point, many believed that it was a more original way to appeal to the audience, avoid copyright and include the price of the student art pass. However, further examples could help to look at the design from different aspects.
Further Developments
These further developments show the two figures sat on a gallery bench in front of the art pass. This was done as a way to show how the figures would spend a while studying the art on display. It shows that they have thorough interest in the student art pass and that it is worth spending a while studying.
To begin finalising the project, it would be beneficial to look back at all the designs and gain feedback during the next critique. This way a conclusion can be found for the Art Fund campaign.
