Studio Brief 2 - Collaborative Practice Storyboard

As the majority of the project had consisted of designs suited for advertising boards, we would need to consider how we could then create a storyboard for a video advertisement. From the designs that had already been created, it was possible to transfer these ideas to the storyboard. Our idea was to set the scene within a cafe, a likely place for people to meet others from Bumble BFF or Bumble Bizz. Therefore, we discussed how people might arrange to meet one another and show this to the audience, so that they can get an idea of how the app works, as well as how they could meet others.

Starting this off, I created a series of sketches that put these ideas into different frames for a video. This way, we could assess how the advertisement would look if it were to be converted into a video format.

Another idea was to create the advert as a conversation between two people, using messages on a phone. Therefore, I created a conversation using emojis to make the advert brief and simple. However, this advertisement wasn't as strong an idea as the first idea. It would not show a variation of details involved with communicating and therefore the viewer would likely loose interest quickly.
To make the idea more understandable, the sketches were then made digitally, emphasising each communicative detail within the ad. This also allowed for the final few slides to be added, in which the Bumble information could be included.

Analysis
As the storyboard had been left until the end of the project, we found that there was not enough time to create the video itself. Had there been better time management throughout the project, we may have been able to apply the ideas to a video format and shown viewers exactly how we envision the ad to play out. This would have also allowed for each of the details within the advert to be understood properly. As a result, viewers could have given feedback, to see what could have been improved about the scenario.
