OUGD601 - Research feedback from peers

The brief for the practical investigation had been written out and then presented to others during peer assessment. As a result of the feedback it became clear which areas to look into and how the practical response could be improved.

feedback

1.    How can the design look both neutral in approach but also masculine and obvious to a male audience?
Plain white, vinyl, colourless, translucent and devoid of colour focus on packaging.
Laser cutter

2.    What typeface would be appropriate and what colour?
Sans serif, brands that have a wide audience, appeals to more than one audience, associate clean with hygiene type.
Traditional type, typewriter, universal brands.

Actions

  • Find a typeface for the brand
  • Look into how neutral design is used to target male audiences
  • Decide on a process that will be appropriate for the brand
Bulldog skin care
  • Bulldog skincare uses photographs of ingredients
  • white background with subtle hints of colour
  • could create a range of items, including shave gel, face wash, face scrub, face masks, beard oil, moisturiser and lip balm.
  • Could consider a photographic approach
  • Could the inside packaging be presentable? such as translucent paper with the logo or coloured shredded paper.
  • No7 men's skincare is another brand that uses neutral design (black packaging with hints of white and lime green. This makes it look clean and hints at the ingredients included.)
